Well, after a 16.5 hour drive from home to Pennsylvania, I finally get to see these pics.

James my friend, I'm not sure I can say much more than I already have over the course of this project. Simply outstanding! To see the progress you've made since purchasing the airbrush, it's nuts man! Again, I offer my sincerest thanks for getting this done in time for my visit to the US; I should receive him on Tuesday. Talk to you soon [Image: thumbsup.gif]

Thanks so much, all of you! I'm really glad you guys like the way this turned out.

To answer some questions, I am not finished with painting the run yet. Since my primary goal has been to improve my paint skills on these pieces, speed has not been a strong point for me. Although, I am beginning to improve in that department. I just need to keep practicing. But, for those who have made it in on this sold out run, the images I've posted are the level quality you can expect. I hope that provides at least some consolation for my current lack of speed (and I still apologize profusely for that lack of speed).

Although this first run is sold out, I plan on starting another. It wont likely be available until the beginning of next year, since I have other projects after I finish my paint work.

The long term forecast of this project is to have a total of 4 runs of 13 pieces, so it will certainly be limited. It would simply be impossible for me to have an unlimited production, and not compromise the quality of these pieces.

As for the painting, the materials I've used on these verses the prototype, has made all the difference. Using translucent resin, and nothing but transparent acrylic inks has allowed me to push the quality much further than I ever could have otherwise. And, of course the airbrush. There is a reason that fx artists, creature designers, and hyperrealist 3D artists (most of whom started in fx work) swear by them. A good airbrush (I use an iwata HP-CH) allows techniques of diffusion, transparency, mottling, and stipple with ease and finesse.

I am so glad that so many of you liked the eyes! I spent so much time watching videos on how eye prosthetists paint the iris, that I see them in my sleep (irises, not the prosthetists)!

As Ryan requested, here is the comparison of my prototype to Chainsaw's finished copy:

On that note, I'm glad you arrived stateside safely Jason. Tomorrows the day! I need to send you a pm.

One more pic. This is my "HUD evolution" group pic:

Thanks for looking you guys! Take care.
