May be a good idea.... I'm just not so sure it would be a hit around the horror/mask forums. I could see a small run selling to some diehards, but nothing big. It's very tough to capture a human likeness and the price tag would have to be rather high on a piece like this (which only a few fans would be willing to pay). I didn't read the book, but I saw the film with my wife. The cinematography was good... but the acting was somewhat poor and the story seemed to lack something and left me feeling empty. I think it was overhyped and overrated, but it had potential. I doubt I'll bother watching any sequels. Anyway, I don't see a high quality bust coming from any artists around here anytime soon.

There are tons of Twilight forums to market on and based on the amount of money my own wife has spent on Twilight things... there are MANY others who'd shell out a couple hundred for a good bust. And if you're forming your opinion based on the acting job done by the actors in the film... I could name you many horror characters that don't deserve immortalization either, then.<!--QuoteEnd</div><!--QuoteEEndI know, right? That worked out pretty well.Actually, just to clarify, my girlfriend and all her friends are also into the Twilight series. She owns all four and always tries to make everyone read 'em. That's perfectly fine and I've come to terms with that because these books are marketed to people like her, in her age group, with her style, etc...She knows I don't like anything about them, but I'll sit around and discuss them with her and usually our conversations consist of things SHE personally thinks are awful. Like, she'll sit around and steam about crappy writing, contradictions in the storyline, sub-par characters and an obvious lack of inspiration that is way too apparent sometimes. That's to say nothing of the film - she absolutely hated it because it wasn't anything like the books. All that said, she STILL can't stop reading them. haha! She also got angry at the constant mention of "Thanks" to the band Muse that is seriously at the end of EVERY SINGLE BOOK...She said it's almost like the writer was sucking up to the band so she could get to meet them someday. Also, apparently the writer is just some random chick who is currently being sued by her college roommate for "stealing her ideas" in regards to the Twilight books...I'll have to look into that later on.In regards to other horror characters who don't deserve immortalization, who did you have in mind? <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"Smile\" border=\"0\" alt=\"smile.gif\" />Cheers,Ryan

The alleged story says the roommate and she had a class together at BYU with a certain professor. The professor's name has never taught at BYU and is identical to a character on the TV Show E.R. Stephanie has also never had a roommate named Heather. As for characters that I think did poor acting that have busts, I probably shouldn't really limit my list to horror characters since so many horror villians didn't speak much. I've seen busts for poorly acted Catwomen, Luke Skywalker busts (sorry... I don't like Luke's acting), Pamela Voorhees (sorry... the original F13 had horrible acting by nearly everyone), Frankenstein, Wolfman, etc. Remember... even though these are classic characters, I was making a point about your claim that people don't deserve busts because of bad acting. Why have any busts of Jason? I thought the acting of Jason in Freddy VS Jason was bad compared to other Jason flicks. But people still make busts of him. It's the character that's being immortalized... not the person. Given the popularity of Edward and Co. these days, it might be a decent item to market to that crowd. Probably not much here, but trust me... there are many huge fans on the Twlight boards that are shelling out for collectibles. Especially hard to find ones.

Interesting topic, my daughter really loves the books and the movie, i watched it but lost interest before it finished, someones allready asked me about sculpting up a lifesize bust, of Edward, but honestly it'd be expensive to do especially with the hairwork, it might work as a resin bust though, with sculpted hair, but most people i know don't like the sculpted hair look

It never moved in the film anyway. <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"Big Grin\" border=\"0\" alt=\"biggrin.gif\" /> Is it better to have punched hair? Always. But given the complete lack of any choices, I'm sure anything would be desireable. One of the better Edward "dolls" has sculpted hair and it works fine. I've seen Joker busts with sculpted hair and it can actually look really good if it's done correctly. I'm sure Edwards face would be quite a challenge given his very unique facial structure. If I knew how to sculpt and had more free time... I'd try to do it. But I'm not good with my hands when it comes to sculpting. But I'm positive my wife would pick one of these up in a heartbeat if someone took on the task.

If you think this is such a good idea, and a great cash cow, pay to have the pieces commissioned yourself.<!--QuoteEnd</div><!--QuoteEEndJust trying to keep the conversation alive because apparently there are several people on this alleged "non-interested" forum who would be interested in the item. If there are interested parties here, imagine how many interested parties there would be at the actual Twilight fans forums. I'm just presenting the idea in case someone may be interested in taking it up and making some money from it potentially. This is a forum where people discuss this sort of thing, isn't it? I'm not looking to profit on it in any way but if someone has the talent to make such an item, I think it would be worth looking into. There's a completely separate thread where people are discussing how crappy the economy is and how people are hurting for cash. Well... that may be how it is in the horror genre right now but there's a lot of hype surrounding a different genre and I wanted to bring it up in case a sculptor hadn't thought of it and could maybe make some extra money that way. Heaven forbid I try to bring up an idea to see if there's interest that might help someone make some money. Most of the responses tend to show that there is interest... yes... even on this forum.

Thanks to those who are actually following this thread's request to stay on topic and not become a opinion bashing thread about feelings on the film/books.

Although I did enjoy Twilight, I also don't think that busts from the film would be a big hit in the horror forums, not to mention I'd feel like a dirty old man having a Kristen Stewart bust in my house . . . no matter how much I might like it. <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumbsup.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"thumbsup.gif\" /> There may be some worthwhile material for a bust from the sequel, when they introduce the werewolves into the story line.
