James,Sorry to see that the sculpt didn't hold up like you wanted... but the important thing is the mold worked out just fine! Best of luck with the final steps... you're almost there!! <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumbsup.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"thumbsup.gif\" />

    Could have made it a custom part 6-ish aftermath sculpt! <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"biggrin.gif\" />Glad the mold was a success!

That looks almost EXACTLY like my silicone Part 4 mold! hahaha. Looks like you did an exceptional job on it, as well. Congratulations, brother!!It's interesting to see that your sculpture was destroyed in the same manner that mine was, even though it's a different brand entirely...I bet that remaining clay is mostly dry as a bone, with deep cracks everywhere along the surface. I don't know which material does that, but it sure is depressing. <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/confused.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"confused.gif\" /> By the way, you know I'm going to have to find some way to purchase one of these bad boys from you...I appreciate your hard work far too much not to at least TRY to snag one for myself. I'll be looking forward to hearing more info on the price for a blank, whenever you decide on it. <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"Smile\" border=\"0\" alt=\"smile.gif\" />Cheers,Ryan

Thanks guys! I am really looking forward to getting some castings done soon. Jigsaw, I thought pretty much the same thing after viewing the damage. Definitely has an undead quality to it now.Death Curse, the clay is very much cracked along the surface, although it isn't dry at all. I think it cracked mainly because I only had enough time to add one layer of silicone a day. So, needless to say, the silicone was fully cured before the mold was removed, which means it was able to shrink on the sculpt. That, at least it is my best guess for all the cracks. It was definitely depressing, especially after having so much success with keeping the mock up intact. My new dilemma is figuring out why clay is sticking to my mold. I know it goes hand in hand with why my sculpt suffered so much damage. I need to find out how to safely clean the mold, so as not to damage the detail. Thanks for all the interest and support. It is greatly appreciated! Sorry this is taking so much time. What can I say, I'm just a NOOB.

are you saying that you only applied one layer of silicone per day? Howlong would you say the silicone was on the clay model? you may have just screwed your self BIG TIME... the clay model should just pop right out of the silicone mold.another point....each layer of silicone should be applied BEFORE the previous one is cured completely... IF your able to use this moldyou will probably incounter "seperation" issues.. ( one layer of silicone seperating from the other....just curious, did someone tellyou it was ok to mold this way? you better know what your doing when it comes to molding with silicone... you may end up ruininga piece that you spent a great deal of time on.. Good luck, you may need it!DB.
