I had a group of about ten kids show up first and they were all in just regular clothes and had a pillow case for the candy, they were about 15 years old and rude. Then you have the kids who keep saying, I'm not afraid of you and walk up at you with there toy gun or whatever and then when you move they run, well some do. Anyway what happened to dressing up and saying trick or treat, hell now that i think about it most would not say trick or treat and were not in costume at all. But to all of the others who were polite and in costume and appreciate all the setting up we do for them, they are cool.
Just had to vent,

The little kids that we had were a delight. One Dad was bringing up his two little boys, they couldn't have been more than 2 years old, one was a Fireman and the other was a Policeman. I had my mask on, so I couldn't hear well, but my wife told me that she heard the Dad telling them to not be afraid, that I only looked scary and wouldn't hurt them, so I pulled my mask off and cut the act let them know that it was all a show. Those two kids were the best behaved out of the entire night. The rest of the time, it was kids that looked too old to trick or treat in the first place. Not a single person that came to our door said Trick or Treat, most just held out their bags and waited for candy and couldn't even manage a thank you. I remember being a kid and knowing to still be polite, a time when our neighbors would invite us in and take pictures of our costumes before sending us on our way for the rest of the night. Halloween just isn't the same anymore, and the sad thing is, I doubt it ever will be again.
Oh, we also had the "I know you're just a guy in a costume, so just give me some candy" brats...ugh...
