Man I'm glad you got this to Tom, I can not wait to see the final version, it's going to be unbelievable! It's already looking a million times better, just getting it unfolded is a huge step, it's really comin along! Congrats man, you're going to have the DEFINITIVE TCM mask after this.

    Thanks guys

After days of studying the mask and looking at every single screen cap and behind the scene still I could find, I assume this mask is a "secondary HERO" or a "HERO back-up". The biggest difference would be the stiching on the neck. Other than that, the paint scheme, the cheek stitching, mouth shape and many details are a perfect match to the HERO. The forehead and mouth area actually had more stitching but due to abuse, alot of the strings have fallen out. The small strings are not tied but are punched in and the leather strings on the cheeks are actually tied in.
I'm sure they made a few back-ups for the film, not to be mistaken with the stunt masks. The stunt masks were all one color, thick pulls, have smaller eye cuts and have less defined finishing. The mask I own is paper thin.
I'm assuming it may be the mask on the left worn by David Schow in this pic.
Or a mask of same origin as the HERO.

Very exciting, K. I'd be more than happy to have the piece just like it is in the pics, but I know Tom will make it look brand spakin new!

    Too cool, man.....too cool.

    Thanks again guys!
    Hopefully my final update
Tom sent me these and advised me that it would be best that he didn't go overboard, such as adding new strings and stuff. He believes it would be best that it be better untouched and that certain newly added pieces would cheapen the overall look of the piece.
I can say that I am blown away at the awesomeness of Tom's crew!

The mask has been mounted on a foam head but can be removed.
The back has been fabricated in certain places, especially the fragile areas.
Velcro was added to keep the mask in place on the head.
    Neck has been fixed.(Whoa!!)
    Ear has been patched back.(wow!)
Cracks and chipped pieces have been pieced together and painted to match the masks color.

Very cool! And i agree, messing around with something that old could end up very bad.
