hey guys, just wanderin if I could get some info from one of you computer wiz\'s

I got a digital camcorder, and Im in a bit of a pickle...I have a DV cable for it so that I can transfer the video onto my computer, it works just fine and I can transfer the sound and video in a jiffy.... on my dad\'s computer that is

its basically the same thing as that cable there, but on my computer, the end of the cable that goes into the computer (the ubs lookin one) has nowhere to plug in

are there different cables I can get taht will plug in sumwhere else, or some sort of adapter type thinger?

What your talking about here is data transfer.The socket that your plugging into on your Fathers computer is known as a IEEE firewire connection.If there isn,t one on your computer I suspect your PC is older than your Dads.You will have to go to your computer vendor and have an upgrade.You won,t be able to somehow go through a USB connection as it,s a different thing in this case.Some cameras etc do data transfer through a USB port,that,s how it is with my digital camera.You have three options then,PC upgrade,new camcorder with USB data transfer,keep using your dads PC.Hope I,ve enlightened you :thumbsup:
