    Also, if you are having breathing problems at the moment and are unsure why, asthmatics often have tough times with their condition between season changes. Typically in the middle of winter and dead of summer are the worst.

    But to answer your question. Like Jason said, Mucinex is usually just for cleansing out the mucus from your nasal areas. It also helps to break up some of the congestion in your chest. But I won't necessarily help your breathing, specifically.

    You should probably contact your doctor about possibly getting an inhaler. Abuterol was the most common inhaler until it was discontinued a year or so back. Since then, I've been on pro-air.
