I did exactly that and you will save your self some money as well. Go to home depot, everything needed to make your own armature is there. Go out get a piece of wood about 15 x 15 (inches), PVC Pipe about 1.25 in diameter about 1.5 in length, a 1.25 flange and a screw cap to go into the flange. Then screw the flange into the center and put screw the pvc pipe into the flange and walah you got yourself an armature. Then go out to a beauty supply store and buy some foam head and stick the head on the pipe. All this should cost less the $20 bucks. Oh also do not get NSP Chavant Medium clay, pain in the a$$ to work with. Go with NSP Chavant Soft or WED clay. Here are pics of the armature I made.
