Robert Englund is Freddy. He played many a character but Freddy is what he did best and what created his fanbase. I am not a die hard Freddy fan by any means but if after so many movies all of a sudden they decide that Robert Englund is not good enough to be Freddy anymore than start up a different franchise instead of ruining one that is legendary. There is no one that would be able to pull Krueger off like Englund does, no one.But instead of showing the studios that we as fans won't stand for getting fed these steaming piles of celluloid diarrhea, people flock to the cinemas because the name of their favorite franchise is plastered all over it no matter how bad the product is.That's why studios don't bother to put a hefty amount of money behind these projects anymore because they know that they can get away with mediocre product and that's also the reason why smaller studios will always produce better movies because they actually care about what they put out.Would you go watch another Jason movie if all of a sudden he wore a cowboy hat instead of a hockeymask, just to keep things fresh? There are some things that you don't change in a franchise. There is a certain formula that you have to stick with and if you stray from that you will end up ruining the movie. It's the reason why Zombie's Halloween sucked, why the TCM remake blew and why the F13 remake was only mediocre.<!--QuoteEnd</div><!--QuoteEEndYour opinion.
