Having tools without technique is useless. Trial and error is the way to go.....experiment. BTW, using an orange by it self is wrong.....leaving a negative impression.You need to build up layers of latex on an orange to create your own stamp....then use that on your sculpt. (as stated above, warming up firm clay helps)
