Nsmpls is absolutely right. It varies quite a bit depending on the person, project, purpose, or production. There are some sculptors who are so familiar with anatomy and experienced with special sculpting techniques that it can only take them 24 hours or less - if absolutely necessary - to complete a sculpted character makeup for feature film work.There's a legend about Brian Wade (which he recently confirmed as true through email) that the F13 Part 6 Jason prosthetic makeup was sculpted, molded, cast, trimmed, painted, AND flown to location in Georgia from LA within just 48 consecutive hours. That's one of the more extreme circumstances, though...Most big studio FX sculptors are given a anywhere from a few weeks to a couple months to sculpt, mold, and produce their designs.Cheers,Ryan
