I thought i had the same 1974 tcm saw and found out i did not, instead i have the one they used in prt 5...the worst of the series, lol and its not technically that, its a 10 10 instead of the 700,oops. You have the same saw, but its the 245 a, the one they used in the 74 film was the 306a. Still a COOL A$$ saw and a great score!
Here is a cool website if ya didnt already know about it...http://www.texaschainsawmassacre.net/FAQ.htm
Go to the bottom of the pg. to read about all of the saws.
Once again, i hope you dont think im a jerk for this, just thought id share this with you.

Hey there thanks for your comment. You don't sound like a jerk lol... but I actually did a little research about the saw... The debate is well place if you want my opinion... The poulan 306a and 245a are exaclty the same... except for the gas tank I think and the logo

There are some places that says its a poulan 306 other a 245...
IMDB they say its a 245: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0072271/trivia
Wikipedia say its a 245: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poulan
Of course, those ressouces are not very interesting... But if you look at the pictures:

Take a good look at the tank form...
Now you can check both version of the poulan and you will see that the 306 has a thiner gas tank

I found that on a chainsaw forum lol

So, in my opinion, the chainsaw is more looking like a 245a due to its tank. But again this is not a big deal lol since that is the only difference... both are nearly identical.
Tell me what you guys think.
