LF, I\'ve got a full size one from ANH. I purchased parts and made much of it on my own, or I commissioned people for it. Altogther, it cost me about $700-$800. IT\'s not bad either (in my opinion) All I\'m missing is a cod piece (for some odd reason I have yet to buy one or make it...I\'m just lazy...)
BUt if you go to Vadermaker Australia\'s website (not the UK version) you might be able to get some help. He offers instructions on how to buy materials and make your own at a very cheap cost. He also has links that show you where you can get other advice.

As for making one for less than $300, you\'re probably out of luck. You can buy a Don Post standard size helmet for around $40-60 and you\'ll be off to a good start (now mind you it isn\'t the full size), but it\'s a start. The capes can be easily made and the rest is just undercape cosmetic stuff.
Usually the DP Classic Action helmet goes for around $400-500 on Ebay, and fiberglass ones go for anywhere from $800 - $2000. And that\'s just for the helmet. I guess it all depends on how authentic you want it to be.
