Well, in my opinion, it\'s hard to get people to join a new community when they already belong to one or more forum. I had a forum on my site for quite awhile and it never really had that much traffic. It was fun, and I may add one to my new site (which is launching soon 
) but for the most part it was kind of dead there.
You could always try it and see what happens. There is a free board you can download and install called [url=\"http://www.phpbb.com/\"]PHPBB Boards[/url]. I installed one on Mikes site ([url=\"http://www.facesofdeathpro.com\"]Faces of Death[/url]) and it works pretty well. Just make sure to put a cool skin on it as I think aesthtics are very important to bringing people in and keeping them there. Let me know if you need any help.
