I'm sure you guys know him from michael-myers.net but he really doesn't even post here besides to sell something.<!--QuoteEnd</div><!--QuoteEEndFunny thing is I didn't even have to click the link to know who this was about... It's a tough rule really guys, as far as bumping goes, not really necessary to bump a thread more than once a week, but say you're in a hurry to move something out and you give it a significant price drop after 2 days... bump worthy? Or just edit the original post? Add in the title line that the price is dropped and the date it was dropped... It won't bump it to page one but it clearly shows those of us who may have read it already, that there is a price change.I'm the worst "window shopper" on the site I can guarantee, but I ALWAYS click a thread that says price drop in the title. Everyone has some good points. For instance it was mentioned that most people only check in on page 1 of the classifieds. I do this often because for some reason all the good deals show up while I'm at work.. lol But I bet alot of us go from page 1 to 12 on a somewhat regular basis. I do whenever I get a spare minute. If a guy has something that hasn't been bumped alot, it is going to be disappearing from the forum and might be likely to take a "best offer"... even if just to finally get it out of his way..Long story short, the mods are doing what they can according to the current rules. We can't expect them to make 101 "by-laws" for the bump rule..

IMO the easiest way we can stay on top of this and prevent this from happening is if people report the threads to the moderators.

The bottom line is we are really talking about a few certain people here. Most of us who have been around or who plan to be follow the guidelines. There are a few guys who do the same thing all the time and they should be warned. There's a guy who posts a thread for every item, there's a guy who needs the money "real bad" and bumps everyday, there's a guy who only posts to sell and there's a guy who "wishes he had the money" everytime anything comes up for sale. I am sure you all know who I am referring to. So warn them and let's move on. Jason

I mean it doesn't take that long to go through the first few pages of the classifieds if people are making there posting topics clear... <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/banana.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"banana.gif\" /><!--QuoteEnd</div><!--QuoteEEndi agree - just my two cents <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"tongue.gif\" />

I am not a regular like many of you who post everyday here as I come in to look and see what is for sale mostly. I do see this problem though on most every site when it coems to selling stuff. I hate seeing the stuff bumped every day and sometimes multiple times a day. Another thing I dislike though is when people never close the thread as the item has been sold. I love looking through all the pages to find a deal but it would make it much easier if people listed it as sold in the thread topic or something. Either way this is a hell of a board and thanks for checking out my 2 cents worth and really I over charged you by 2 cents as I am not sure it was worth it. lol

I agree with classifieds being on a PM basis. What about the "PM sent" messages? As you all know they bump the ads as well.... And it's pretty hard to miss a PM if you have the alert window thing pop up when you get messages. I think members need to use a bit more discretion themselves as to how posts get bumped too. Most of the members that have been here a while know better, it's usually the people who go between boards and aren't sure what flies where. My question would be.... Since we all know posts will be bumped whether they deserve it or not... Is there any way you can display more messages on the first page of the classifieds? At least the post will be more visible longer.

I see the seller say sometimes "hey I didn't get a pm from you, can you send it again". It's the "pm replied" post that ticks me off. I personally don't do "pm sent" posts because what I buy is no ones business.
