I\'m a compulsive buyer, if I see a mask I want I always think of everything I got in my room that I can sell or trade to get it. I never save up for a mask, I just always happen to find the mask I want at the time I have money.

I\'ve been collecting for 20 years now, and the prices of everything has just went up, just like inflation and the economy. I don\'t know what the average age of people on this board is, but I\'ve always had a job, even down to my paper route when I started collecting at age 9, and I always used what I could for my hobby.

I guess now, with limited house space, I generally have a rotating basis, where if I find something I really want that is $300-$1000, I\'ll usually sell something first. All else, I\'ll just buy it. Nothing in my collection is solid. I\'ll sell anything. The thrill for me is really in the chase. Once I got it........It just collects dust!

I think buying stuff you can\'t afford with Credit Card is the way to go for me.
Along with selling stuff off, most of the time spending more money than I make with any sale. BUT the stuff I sell for 100 bucks seems to justify spending 500 bucks.

I buy inexpensive stuff, then sell it off and upgrade mostly. Like with my IndianaJones props. I started with really bad resin recasts, and sold them off to put towards better ones, and now I have the best there is Smile

Quote:And F-R, do you have a Schector 1 piece with dual seymour duncan humbuckers and string thru body construction with a 5 way selector switch that can make your humbuckers sound like single coils?
Did I mention it\'s neck through body and all one piece??
what? you don\'t have a guitar like mine? You need to work on that guitar collection

Sorry, no one-piece axes here. I do know of the humbuckers you are talking about and I\'ve heard good things. Nope, the stuff I have now does me pretty well for what I want to do. Granted, I like to drool over new guitars and stuff, but when I come home from the guitar shop, I can sit down with my own rig and do the job no problem.

I guess that\'s what I mean about my collection. Yeah, I\'d love that new burned guy silicone mask, or one of J\'s Haggard Hanks....hell, I\'m still drooling over that aged part one glove you made.... But when I look on my shelf, I see things that make me happy so being that I\'m already quite satisfied (or will be when I get the rest of my stuff), the even newer stuff (should I purchase more) will be a little easier to wait for...maybe Smile

I don\'t have much, but what I do have, I think is pretty nice. I\'m just not a fanatical spender. Like Tommy, I\'ve got way more important things that I have to spend my money on. And I also really think hard if I want something or not. A lot of this hobby has turned into something way too materialistic. In a lot of cases, its become a \'pissing contest\'. I don\'t really go for that or try to keep up. I get the stuff I get becuase I like it and thats all there is to it. That aside, I think its better to have quality over quantity. Its nice to have a few display pieces, but I don\'t want them over-running my house! Big Grin
