Its a thorny issue allright, but you live and learn, i think your\'e an ok guy dude, you made a mistake ok, you\'ve stepped up to the podium and took the flack, youre breaking the mould, so i think thats the end of it really.
As a maskmaker it does piss me off when this stuff happens, i had a guy recast one of my masks then have the nerve to ask me for another cos he messed up his original! Big Grin

    Bill

The only thing I can say is, You should always ask before you recast a mask.

it\'s the right thing to do period!

I don\'t think Mike woruld be to happy if i recasted one of his hockey masks and passe dit off as mine on ebay or any place and he found out, about it.

The shit would hit the fan and everyone would hate me, If they don\'t already........

It should just be a rule without anyone telling you, That you ask 1st and do what they say. Eitehr give them money, Cerdit, or whatever they ask for.

You should always give the orginal artist cerdit for there hard work and ask them 1st.

Look what happens when you don\'t.

Okay, guess my turn. Recasting is a touchy subject at the best of times, it\'s frowned upon pretty well universally in the hobby, just something you don\'t do. But, we all know it happens, all the time, with tons of different masks by lots of different makers. Some of whom have gone on to make a living making masks, more then a couple I know of actually. Some have been black listed, but more often then not, that\'s because they would not admit guilt, and accept responsibility. Now, what Bill did, as you guessed it, took a mask, and recast it right? Well, in a way. What he did, was take a Kirk, recast it, to make some Myers, not to sell on a site and make money, mostly for personal practise, fun, enjoyment. Not saying what he did wasn\'t wrong, but saying there\'s more then a black and white issue here. I don\'t know if selling them on ebay was the best move, that can look bad, but he wasn\'t popin em off to make some quick cash either. He fessed up right away, came clean, and is going to rectify the situation, what more could you want from him?
He\'s been one of my closest friends for years now, I know what he\'s about, and you all know me well enough to know I don\'t vouch for just anyone. He\'s not gonna be banned, that\'s pointless, he knows what he did, it was a mistake, forgive and forget, and move on.
