I want to apologize to the NIGHTOWL mods, Dan and Ben especially. Quite a few NIGHTOWLers believed Ben and Dan were covering up for Mike, the idea was to see if the Mike threads would be deleted.I would like to state for the record that Dan, Ben and the other NIGHTOWL mods have zero to do with Mikes BS, they are here for Justin. I’m really sorry that a point had to be proven this way, understand guys that I’m not against NIGHTOWL, this is about Mike.To move on, now that it’s been proven that mods have zero to do with what’s going on with Mike. The purpose of the blog is to inform people as to what’s going on, and to keep the drama off NIGHTOWL. Justin doesn’t need this headache, especially with Halloween right around the corner. I've already read the TOS of blogger.com and beside being against the law to post personal info. of someone it's also against bloggers TOS. I've contacted them pertaining to my name being posted and to have it taken down.

I'm not going to have people reading your blog from all over and trying to look me up to get a hold of Mike. I was offering to help members from NO forum that's it. So kindly remove my comments that I made on NO from your blog. For your own interest, I would also take down Mikes name just to save you from hassle of possible legal issues. You really need to look up the law before posting a person's name or any other personal info on the internet without having the ok to do so. Posting his website is fine but posting just a person's full name could result in legal problems.

Dan - you handled yourself really well here. The NO mods take a lot of crap for nothing in return. They're good guys. Couple things on my mind. 1- A blog to organize folks who've been robbed or cheated is a fine idea. Hosting it anonymously is ridiculous. It's hard to represent yourself as the voice of justice when your identity is hidden, unless you're Batman. Keep it on the level; don't hide.2 - I can see why someone without the full story might think Mike was being "protected" here. Leaving the thread open "just for Mike's reply" feels one-sided; host the discussion or don't. That said, if someone would have just PM'd Leprechaun Mike's contact info, that thread could have been closed, deleted, whatever, instead of dragged into a weeklong soap opera. There's nothing ethically wrong with providing someone with contact info when the buyer has deleted all other avenues of contact. "All that is required for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing." I don't know if Mike is a bad guy or not, but he seems in over his head with back orders and (based on his myspace page) personal problems. But helping him keep his head in the sand isn't really helping him. You can't give someone a second chance if you can't find them.3 - Larry brings up a decent point about cultivating a thriving buying/selling/trading community, but having a zero tolerance policy about transaction problems. I don't have a fix for this, but I can tell you this trend of mask makers flaking and falling off the face of the earth is killing the hobby. New people wander in and are usually young and naive-ish, and they're ripe for the rapin'. There is nothing online that collects the names of bad dealers, because people are unwilling to be vocal. So instead we get together at cons and hate on all the criminals in private. Who's that helping? I know some guys enjoy the exclusivity, but with no new blood, eventually you'll end up with stagnation. You guys who've been around a while are the only ones who can help keep the hobby alive by protecting the next wave of collectors from being turned off to it via mail fraud.I love all of you. Peace.

You made the information available to NIGHTOWL members, yes, however NIGHTOWL is a public domain forum, therefore you have zero precedence. If you don’t want people contacting you to get to Mike, then you shouldn’t have offered to do so. IMO you shouldn’t allow Mike to use you as a middleman, If Mike was an honorable businessman he would have requested that you post his phone number for people to get in touch with him directly.Now as for the legality of posting Mike’s full name. Mike has no grounds to come after me what so ever. Mike runs, or ran rather, a business. I’m basically a reporter reporting on how he conducted his business, reporting on what folks are saying about him. Since Mike is known throughout the hobby, he’s not a private person. So what law am I breaking? Mike can try suing me for slander that’s about it, and the burden of proof is on him if he does. Mike would have to prove I lied in my blog, and what did I lie about? What I posted was basically a recap of what was already posted here on NIGHTOWL, along with my commentary. If the blog gets deleted because I violated a TOS agreement, I’ll just find another host to publish it, and if need be I’ll create a domain for it.Instead of me worrying about legal troubles from Mike, Mike should worry about legal troubles from his customers. Mail fraud is a nasty crime, a lot of jail time for that, so I hope Mike gets those orders or refunds out before folks start filing complaints.-TheHost
