Just Got Back From Halloween

Just saw the mattinee today. I enjoyed. You cant look at it as a remake. I really liked the directing. Lil Daeg was awesome!!!!! And Ken Foree scene was badass!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ill buy the dvd.

I just got back! I loved it! There was a few parts that could have been better but hey...thats the case with every movie. Overall I loved it and I will defenitely buy it when it comes out on dvd.

You have to look at this movie as a vision not a remake.The movie was really good and I enjoyed it alot.. Mayne looked great as myers and his size fit in as someone that big could do the things that he did. Someone 6'10 could manhandle people as apposed to someone 6'0. The knockdown for me was all the swearing and nudity. Too much of both, but besides that it was a great updated vision of a classic masterpeice. I would rather have this movie than nothing at all.

Really liked Zombies take....hearing the Misfits 'Halloween' during the sex seen in the abandoned myers house really hit a nostalgic nerve...loved that... big fan of Glenn Danzig.

I didn't like the film, plain and simple. I actually am more fond of the Dawn of the Dead and Texas Chainsaw Massacre remakes than this. Yeah, I know this isn't a "remake" but come on. . .uses the same characters, some of the same scenes, and the same basic progression (what Michael did as an adult). I just found the movie severely disapointing. And I'll be completely honest: I don't like Rob Zombies films at all; they're just bad movies wrapped in "bad" packages.Stick to music Rob.

I just got home from seeing this and I'm conflicted.I really liked the "li'l mikey" portion of the film. His family was very midwest white trash Illinois. I should know, as i swear that was MY stepdad in the Myers house. The language was spot on for the family. I enjoyed his torturing of animals, because that what serial killers do! Most psychopaths start as animal killing socipaths. It just fits. I enjoyed the moments in the asylum, but i wanted more. a couple interviews and one murder didn't quite satisfy my thirst for more of Dr. Loomis's efforts to reach Michael.I hated how they flashed forward from child in the asylum to adult, but I loved his escape. What bothered me, though was the girls. I did, however like the way Zombie tried to parallel the "walk homw" scene by having them overuse the word "totally". The end was long and too drawn out for me. After Loomis shoots Myers, the movie is over. PERIOD. The rest was unnecessary. I actually started to get bored.I disliked how so many of the lines and famous speeched were ALMOST ver batum, but then slightly altered.But, all in all, GREAT mask EXCELLENT violent kills. I'll buy the DVD.

Plenty of bad acting by many people starting with Sherri right from the first scene. I went w/ my fiancee to see this film on Saturday and it pretty much met my expectations. I wasn't impressed, but I wasn't entirely let down. The language and gore was definitely overboard and not needed to that extent at all - but of course RZ's vision is always bloody/gory and filled w/ every word in the book so that was expected. I loved loved loved the mask pre-burial! It looked freakin sick and I died laughing when Michael put it on... good call Rob. I wasn't a fan of it w/ the rot/stitches because it reminded me of chucky too much. I liked how Rob kept true to the original in some scenes and a few of his casting choices were great... aside from his wife. One thing that really disappointed me was the fact that all RZ concentrated on was the aggression of Michael and less on the mystery and psychology of his character. All in all I guess it was interesting nonetheless. I don't plan on buying the DVD... but if it drops to the $6 bargain bin I'll pick it up. 6 out of 10 stars
