Yes.. the MATERIALS are not worth that much. But you're paying for the work that the artist did to come up with such an amazing sculpture. The value is in the artistry of the piece, not the materials. That's something I just don't understand. Don't people expect to be paid for the time they put into their work as well as getting reimbursed for the materials? The hair on this piece is all hand-punched hair by hair and that in itself is time consuming. Yes.. the price he is asking is very high... but remember... you're also paying for the artist's name as well. If you haven't seen this guy's other work.. you gotta check it out. He's totally a pro.
