I love how all the people crying about the "lack of character development" and "lack of plot"....what a fuckin crock. I grew up on the F13th movies and don't recall any of them having much of either as a necessary point of the movie. Jason killed dumbass teenagers who screwed in the woods. Pretty much the plot of all of them.

I think what really ticked me off is, when Jason is revealed, there are still... what.... 5-6 kids alive? In the old ones, Jason was most revealed ALWAYS thern there were 2 kids left, and he'd torcher them, slowly scaring them until they got him. This was different. They say they want an "old-school" slasher (when most of them are like 16-19 years old) and when they get one, they bitch about it. When I go to a slasher, I'm not looking for a convoluted involved plot with yards of character development. I want boobies and a cook killer, sprinkled with some kills. Period. This movie shares many of the flaws as its originals, whereas people cannot overlook them here, but turn a blind eye to the same problems in the coveted, worshipped originals......Larry

Saw it last night and I liked it for the most part but had a hard time trying to pay attention to the movie because the theater was packed with nothing but a shitload of little loud mouthed obnoxious teenagers that wouldnt shut the hell up through the entire movie. Not just one group of assholes but the WHOLE theater. I've never been to a movie where it was this bad ever. I'm going back to a early show on sunday to see it again. I will say this though, Move over Kane cause thers a new Jason in town and he's one bad MOFO! Mears kicked ass!!

The originals certainly had their flaws certainly but, that was part of their appeal. They were fun to watch....the obvious fake chopped off heads and outrageous kills and Jasons impossible teleportation abilities. They were products of their time and weren't meant to be studied like scientific lab samples. They were fun entertainment. I think they should of stopped around Part 7 or maybe before that but, what can you do ?

Good points. I just find it really easy to walk into a theatre, or pop in a DVD, and turn my mind off and slip back into the era of parachute pants and Vans and enjoy a slasher movie. I don't dwell on plot points or acting, I just want to have fun. This movie was fun for me. It has boobs, blood and a badass killer. Plus they even threw in the super-obnoxious rich guy that seemed to be in every 80's movie. If they keep makin' like this, I'll keep spending my money....no doubt...............................Larry

First of all, like the rest of you I love Jason forever and ever and always will but I didnt even start to enjoy the film until they were hiding under the boats and Jason dropped the bodies and started looking for them.Pros:Jason is badassLoved his trapsAlso enjoyed that he thought stuff out, I get tired of everyone calling him a f'n retard. Gets annoying....BoobiesIt had some cool shots of him close-up like when he was choking the chickCons:It WAS TCM with Jason, I'm gonna agree with the restI didnt think that their was one memorable kill in the entire flick, other than Jason'sI HATED the fact that he used a bow and arrow, this isnt f'n Wrong Turn 2 so keep that sh*t outta there!Didnt care for any of the characters other than the Supernatural guyToo much pot crap, my entire theater must have been f'n potheadsThere is my opinion, I'm getting ready to go see it AGAIN though and use my free ticket this time around. I've decided that I wont be going to opening night at any movie ever again due to the fact that its full of dumbass teens who wouldnt shut the hell up or quit sucking on their freakin straws. That might be one of the reasons I didnt enjoy it as much.EDIT - The showing that I went to sold out just as I got to the window, so I sat in the lobby waiting for the next one for 2 hours and 40 mins.....thats a fan for ya lol. My girlfriend and I were fine, but my friend wouldnt stop bitching about having to wait.
