Did anyone else feel that, though the ending was awesome, it could have been 100X better if Jason was unmasked? <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/confused.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"confused.gif\" />

My 2 cents.....This New 13th is in line with most of the more current horror films....Jason may as well have been Michael Myers or Leatherface(from the new remakes)...or any generic 'killer' for that matter(w/a hockey mask)...wasn't that scarey to me. The other actors could be models for American Eagle clothing...too frat boy for me. I preferred the stoner delinquents in the original 13th films. It seems that most of the recent horror films start strong and end weak....Bloody Valentine a case in point. At least I was able to use the $5 coupons from 'His Name was Jason' and the New Line 'Jason Slasher Collection' dvds. My favorite 'funny' part was the guy trying to find masturbation material in the clothing catalog...I knew what he was up to when he first grabbed the kleenex box....nice! Overall, rushed, very predictable and geared toward a more mainstream audience.

I give it 9+/10.Definitely my new favorite F13. I thought they delivered everything I had hoped for in a re-imagining... It's not supposed to be an Oscar winning drama... it's supposed to be a fun slasher film and it delivered in spades<u>Pros</u>Love the intelligence they gave Jason... someone else said it best.. Rambo with a hockey maskLove the speed and general badass attributes of JasonI liked the hostage aspect with the locket... made sense to me<u>Cons</u>None that I can think of if judging this movie as what it was meant to be.

I keep reading that people say they weren't "scared" during this movie. Who was actually scared during any of the originals? Not me for sure............................Larry

I really enjoyed it for the most part but i think the part that really killed the movie was all of the nudity and stuff like that.

I'm reading some people's comments and don't really understand, sure you are allowed to have your own thoughts and opinions, but some of you are saying you don't like certain things and they are straight out of the original F13 movies.Don't like the nudity? Okay really.. Some of the original F13's have TONS of nudity in them. I do agree that the straight out sex scene was a bit much, but these are all things straight from the original movies.Drugs? Those are definitely in a lot of the F13 movies..No real story? How was this any different from the original movies? Kids go out to a cabin to have fun smoking and having sex, they intrude Jason's territory and link his thoughts to the original counselors and his mother etc, so he kills them. Besides, this is a reboot/remake (whatever you want to call it) basically compiling multiple F13 movies in one. I'm pretty sure those original movies set everything up for you, and then this movie does the rest. Not to mention that there is plenty there to have never seen the original F13 movies before, it's just a simple horror movie with kids all camped up in one spot and a psycho killer comes in and kills them. This is why everyone loves horror movies. The way they made the actors they could be models for certain clothing brands. Well honestly if you think about it, that was how they made them back then as well, just it was from the 80's, of course the style is going to be different now in 2009. Think about it, the popular kids going out to their family's cottages and cabins, they must be pretty loaded. It was the same thing back then, just styles change over time. However I do understand this complaint, but the only reason I was worried about this one is because I thought maybe the acting was going to be horrible from these guys, but honestly it was not.I think one of the only real complaints about this movie is the TCM feeling, and I do agree. I think it felt quite a bit much like TCM, but when you have the people from the TCM remake doing this same movie, I think that was just bound to happen. I also think making him a lot more smart added a bit too the TCM feeling, it wasn't really directly linked, it just added to the feeling. But I must say I enjoy Jason much more when he is able to think things out and set traps etc, it adds tons more action and excitement! And just to add, I think Derek ROCKED as Jason, he has such an awesome feeling.

But then I noticed he had a mask on and it kinda ruined the feeling.
