hey guys,I have been around and a member of this board for a really long time. I have seen it at its best and brightest and have seen it at its worst and lowest. I have made alot of friends here over the years. I don't mean internet buddies either. I literally have made some lifetime worthy friends that I have talked to now for 5-10 years on almost a daily basis. This brings me to the point of this topic. What has happened to this board? I very rarely post anymore. I do not post new scores at all anymore. I even very rarely post in response to new threads. The reason for this is the mentality of the current membership here. Why is there all this meanness and attitude now? Why do half the posters feel they have to be a total and utter dick to new members when they ask questions or make mistakes? Why do all of these people keep making smart ass remarks in threads just trying to belittle someone? It makes no sense. With how small this community is, we should be helping and celebrating each other and not lambasting, embarrassing and disrespecting one another. When someone posts a new score, especially a newer or younger member, someone always has to be a total cock knocker and make some kind of ignorant comment. If you don't like what someone posted, or don't think the look is accurate enough, the right color, the right size, the right material....whatever....then just don't reply. There is no need to be a turd waffle and hate on someone who is very proud of what they have. They have to like it...no one else. When someone posts asking for help on something, or God Forbid, ask a question that maybe has been asked before, people again post ignorant remarks trying to make the poster look stupid. Either respond with whatever information they may be asking for, or politely refer them to the thread where the question has been answered already. Like I have said before, I have been around a very long time and don't let the registration date on my profile fool you. I have been around alot longer than that....I have seen the vast majority of you ask some pretty redundant questions before. Hell, I have asked some pretty backwards questions myself. It is called being human. If you don't like it, then go back to your home planet where everyone knows everything. Finally, stop being so mean to new members. Each and every one of you were new at one point or another. Don't even give me that garbage about how new members need to think before they post. We are all guilty of having brainfarts on occasion. Just wait until you get older. The brain farts come more and more often. Over half of the older members have already bailed on this board, and at least half of the new members bail after the first month of being talked down to, belittled, and disrespected. This board will die with all of the self-righteous know-it-all assholes members. But then again....maybe that is what you want. This is Justin Mabry's board. IT always has been and always will be. This board is one of, if not the most well-known board in the mask collecting community. An hour from now, Justin could be sitting on the toilet and decide he is tired of the board and POOF...it's gone. Make the most of it while you still have it. Respect the man, the board, and ALL of the members....Like I said before, I do not want to hear any excuses as to why people are treated the way they are. We all know how I feel about excuses. If a member is causing a problem, then pm a mod. That's all there is to do. The MODS will take it from there. That is just one of the many talents the MODs have. Man up and move on....Even now after I have said this, someone is gonna post some aimless garbage defending the reasons for treating a new member or another member a certain way. Let's see who does it first.take care,Tommy

I think this mentality goes for virtually every message board, even some of the heavily moderated ones. I see it all the time and I reckon it's because it's very easy to fire text insults because you really don't have to look the person in the eye. There's the other case where people feel like they have to let their knowledge and expertise known, so of course they have to let people know that their bust not screen accurate because the eyes are hazel and not blue.

I agree completely with you Scabboy. I know you have been around this community for quite some time as well, dating back to the various incarnations of the Friday the 13th message boards with blake and brenna i think. I have so many fond memories of this board and the members. I really do not want to see it come to this. The saddest thing of all will be that in 2 days from now, this thread will be long gone. Some random thread full of people talking smack will be on the front page.take care,Tommy

Yeah nice, well said Tommy. I'm a much newer member to the board than you and I agree with you. I actually feel nervous about posting my new scores nowadays so I don't anymore. Shame. <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/confused.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"confused.gif\" />

i totally agree with you Tommy and when i get annoyed with someone here it's mainly when a " new person " shows up and makes like 7 threads of stupid nonsence that even they know the answer but just post it to see who or how many gets mad at them . in the process of bumping others threads which are really worth looking at . for the younger ones that don't really know the answer to something , i try to help out as much as possible as i too have questions lol . oh and yeah even after all these years i still get the low blow on saying that my work is garbage but hey , you can't always please everyone <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whistling.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\":whistling:\" border=\"0\" alt=\"whistling.gif\" /> . i wish this place and others could be more mature instead of a daycare most of the time but it's in our nature to be mean to people at times . i myself have learning problems , A.D.D. , short term memory just to name a few so i do my best to keep from name calling but sometimes those words just get out but once i realize i said something i shouldn't have , i'll go back and either delete it or come up with something " hopefully funny " to ease the tention . i know i'm not a great person and i'm a bit of a hothead sometimes but i really don't mean to be . i rarely post pics anymore because ... well my pics suck monkey nipples and also i have a very small collection and they all might not be those $700 masks/busts but i'm happy with most of what i have . it's just nice to do some window shopping here <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"Tongue\" border=\"0\" alt=\"tongue.gif\" /> mike,

I agree 100% with you Tommy. It seems to be the "in" thing to bash people and what they show off. Like you stated, God Forbid you be a new guy with a question. The cliques around here are bad enough too...."heeeheee, I know something you don't know" mentality. Comes down to one simple thing............M-A-T-U-R-I-T-Y or a distinct lack thereof..........................Larry

it is a classic example of people looking down on others to make themselves feel superior. slamming other members for no good reason other than self gratification. they are in all walks of life, best to just ignore those idiots and move on. or, if they are being huge douches, report it and we can possibly be rid of these people. i have not been here long either but i am on everyday. this is actually the first board i ever joined, and found myself being an idiot on some topics, but i swear i have left those days behind me, i love this board (apologies to those of you i offended) i have met some super cool people, done good business, made some friends and i will be here until the end, which i hope is never. tommy, that was a very well thought out and highly articulate rant. lol. two thumbs way up. <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumbsup.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"thumbsup.gif\" /> <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumbsup.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"thumbsup.gif\" /> side note: did you get your madman yet?

I agree with most everyone here, i remember my first few posts and i got ripped by guys and wanted to draw blood, butthat was when i was new to the community, now i know how it works, and you got to have thick skin if your going to post alot, as there will always be some ass going to piss you off, i personally like to wait until people show up at cons and then see how they act, shit half the people here wouldnt even say hi or introduce them selves to me, its funny, i wont mention any names but they are people who post all the time and are very opinionated on the boards but in person they are shy, scared little beings out of there comfort zones, it just sucks to see people post pics after a con and you seen them several times thru out the day, and they never say hi or introduce them selves, but never shut up on here, hahaha, thats some shady shit, and you guys know who you are, hopefully it will be diffrent this yr, Anyway it is BS the way some people get treated on here but what can we do, keep your maturity level high and ignore the jerks and just enjoy the people who are here to have fun and meet some friends with common interests, i know ive made many friends here, and i mean friends like tommy said, not just computer buds, i actually consider them friends cuz thats what they have been since i met them, they are real and im glad Justin has kept this going cuz i love it here and look forward to many more yrs!!!

Cannot agree with you more Tommy, and everyone else, It's sad really......I like what you posted IHM, you hit the nail on the head. It is to easy to hide behind an alter ego on a computer screen and create a security blanket for themselves, seems to be a way to fill in the void of things they are missing like confidence, maturity or not being able to find self gratification in something that is real.In the mean time, lets keep moving forward, try to enjoy our love for this hobby. I will never let a self-loathing individuale take away what is special to me.......period.Hope to meet alot of you @ HHW, just look for the guy that walks with a cane and say hi. <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumbsup.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"thumbsup.gif\" />
