I liked the other remakes too. The possibility of Freddy being innocent is not bad. But i think it's better to see a Freddy as a killer.

I'm actually really excited about this one. It'll be nice to see another nightmare on screen. I don't know what to think of the story right just yet, I think it could work depending on the direction of the film.

i am wondering which actor will play the role of Freddy in the remake.i am still looking forward to the Freddy glove/sweater/fedora design of the remake.

The thing everyones missing, is if if he was innocent, then why the glove? the whole point of the glove was that is was freddys weapon of choice before being killed. so if he's burned with it - why have it if he's not really a killer before?

maybe they're going for the ol' victimized crazy route- ya know the whole "thinking-he's-innocent-despite-having-murdered-and-raped-kids-because he's-crazy"... im gonna wait it out for the trailers

I really have to say that I'm surprised that people are talking as if they've already decided that Freddy is actually innocent of the crime the kids accused him of. Maybe, in Freddy's mind, he is innocent. Many sexual predators don't see what they're doing is wrong and they are helping their victims "grow up" and experience life. So, maybe it's a combination of the two. He truly was evil in the eyes of the children and their parents and was guilty of every accusation. But in Freddy's mind, he did nothing wrong and was killed for it and that pisses him off and he wants revenge. Only a truly psychotic and evil person would think like that. I think it could really work.
