You know whats really weird. Is about 12:30 when my girlfriend came over for lunch I was listening to thriller and I said "you know, if michael jackson would have died back in 84 then he would have died a pure legend. But I hope people dont remember for his trials and stuff". Its just weird that I thought about that and then turned on the tv to see what the headline was. Im really bummed. I was a HUGE fan. Thriller was the first casset tape I ever got.

I will miss him..He was the best of the best.Everyone in music owes him everything they have in one way or another.Thriller was and is by far the best short film ever done and I hope we hear from John Landis on the matter of his passing.J-

I agree that he was definitely as big of a name as Elvis and has always been a major talent.I personally really enjoyed his work on Thriller and the video is a classic.

Huge fan, the world has lost a legend, i hope he's remembered more for his music, than for half the made up crapola that came and went over the yearsRIP

I've never had anything but respect and a little pity for the guy. If there was a child problem, then I feel sorry for him having to deal with that and still trying to be "the good guy" regardless of what his money and influence could buy him. Temptation would have been enormous, and yet, realistically, very few reports ever came out about anything like that.Never seen someone do so well on their own without being corrupted by it, and his love for kids (the positive kind that he no doubt had, regardless of anything else) the building of his amusement park, the wonderland he created for the kids, regardless of the scorn he's always received for his appearance, his mistakes, his life choices.. it was a tragic and lonely life and still full of positive messages in his life and music. Sources close to him always said he had it pretty rough. and it seemed like he couldn't do anything without being attacked for it. He was a kid that never really grew up.. remember the batman statue with his face on it, and all that wicked cool stuff he was auctioning off recently? This was a guy who earned the ability to have all that stuff, and he shared it with the kids who can really appreciate it.. I don't think he ever understood what was wrong with being around kids at their own level. If he truly had a problem with that, then I guess we'll probably know all about it in the next few days as folks come forth with their stories to exalt or crucify his memory.

It still hasn't really sunk in yet. I remember hearing songs from <i>"Off the Wall"</i> and <i>"Thriller" .....</i>when I was little and I'll remember being 6 years old and seeing the Thriller video and loving it......as I still do. He was the biggest entertainer in the world and I remember <b>EVERYBODY</b> was a fan of his. That's how I will remember him.R.I.P. Michael Jackson
