Honestly? Sounds like a Hardware fault. Check to make sure your cards and stuff are plugged in and haven't been shaken loose. If you're lucky.. that's all it is.. Did you have any symptoms prior to this one? like mouse working weird or anything? I ask because it seems wrong to just throw a guess out to suggest it might be like the video card. Hopefully it's not your motherboard or something, but with no way to test it, from here, I'm hoping there might have been some symptoms you haven't mentioned, which would help one of the gurus figure it out and pin it down better than I could.Like could it be overheating? does it happen every time you boot up.. does it get past boot-up and THEN trigger?

I have a dimension 9200 and got this. Eventually I had to reinstall windows XP completely and it sucked. But luckily I back everything up because this happened to me many times before on other pc's. Reinstalling is a major beeeoootch and takes forever, then you have to set everything up and reinstall all programs again. You may be heading in that direction if you keep getting the screen. I have windows XP as I reverted back because Vista sucked for gaming. Back up all files now!

It could be something simple as bad RAM. If your system uses two sticks of RAM, remove one and reboot. If it doesn't work swap out the sticks and reboot with the second stick. If you know what type of RAM it uses maybe pick up a cheap stick and give it a shot.... or borrow one if you can just to try. Otherwise you may have to take it to a computer shop. Things like this can be difficult to diagnose but RAM is an easy and cheap place to start. I've had a similar encounter with an old system and luckily it turned out to be bad RAM. Worth a shot.Good luck dude.
