Just curious about something that I seem to witness alot. Why do some latex masks seem to depreciate in value while others skyrocket? I mean, a KH/DW these days is a grand or more, when they were like $300. when they came out.

Personally the reason I\'m writing is this. How come people sell their masks for less then it\'s worth? Personally I think a $100. dollar mask should be sold for $120. that would cover shipping, you don\'t have to wait for the mask to be made, and the value of the mask increases by ten bucks.

I hate seeing masks like the Cinema Secrets H8 mask sold for 20-30 dollars. Plus this forces other people trying to sell that mask to lower thier price too. Isn\'t that mask worth 50-60 bux? It sure seems like it to me, I mean, for all the Myers masks made, that one actually DOES look like H8. But people sell them so cheap, (myself included when I saw what others were selling for)

My point is, I guess, masks should be sold for MORE then the listed website price since there is no waiting involved, the mask is already done. I think this would help keep masks valuble and keep the hobby a little more \'alive\' (if that makes any sense)

    also, as an aside:

found it really funny and ironic that for a year I watched people bitch about, "how come people just buy masks for halloween then throw them away afterwards?"

But look at all the message boards and the flood of \'for sale\' masks after halloween.

this thread in no way is meant to invite angry type posting, but I\'d love to hear what ya\'ll think about this

very interesting, to be sure. it is a well known fact that people do tend to sell their masks after halloween, and what Bill said just further proves this fact. i also agree with the statment about the mask prices. i was shocked when i saw that people were selling the h8 for 25 bux!!! that ludicrous!! that mask is worth at least 60 bux!! why let such a nice mask go for practically nothing????

yup. I\'ve been trying to sell my CS H8 for days at $30. but no takers.

That\'s cool, I\'ll just keep it. It\'s worth alot more then $30. anyway, imo.

I would LOVE to get a CS H8 like the ones 13thDreamShape and DreamDemon have been doing.

I love the way Aaron paints, and Willies getting really good at hairing masks.

good point man. personally i love my cs h8 mask. it\'s pretty accurate and defiantley worth the 45 bucks i spent on it. if someone where to sell it, it should go for 50-60 bucks. awesome topic!

Worth is all relative. I\'ve bought masks for $100 and sold them for $60. On the other hand, I\'ve also bought masks for $9.99 that I\'ve sold for over $100. It all depends on the mask, the buyer, and what it\'s worth to them to aquire it.

Value also depends on how many were made and how hard it is to get one. For example, the CS H8 you could pick up in just about any halloween store. The KH/DW... how many of those have you seen?

I know. What I\'m saying though is; If a CS H8 mask is 45-50 new, why is it sold for 30 instead of 60? To increase the masks value instead of decreasing it.

Economics, man. Supply and Demand. Price is only high if demand is high. If your mask sells low, it\'s cuz either no one wants it, there\'s too many of them or everyone has one.

    Sorry...
