    Alrighty guys,

To everyone living on the gulf coast, make sure to be prepared for whatever may happen. It is safe to say the experts have no clue as to what this storm is going to do. The expected landfall points change every time there is an update. Right now, the storm is expected to hit where I live directly, which is Mobile, Alabama. If you like where it is labeled 2 AM Wed...I live literally right above that. But, who knows what it is gonna say in the next update. Just make sure you are prepared and have a plan of action just in case. If FEMA tells you to leave, then for the love of everything, leave. I do not want to see a repeat of what happened with Katrina on the Gulf Coast. As this thing gets closer, I may lose complete contact, so I just wanted to give everyone a heads up now. We will start feeling the effects most likely late tomorrow night.....take care people...

    take care,
    Tommy

Stay safe Tommy! Make sure to keep your cell phone with you at all times; hopefully it will still work in any event. Keep us updated with a post in this thread to let us know everything is ok after the storm hits... or drop me a text.

and the newest update already has moved it west of us...which is even worse when it comes to hurricanes. The eastern side of a storm like this is much much worse when it comes to winds, rain, and tornadoes. I would much rather have it hit us dead on then be on the east side of it...

I will definitely keep you updated Jason....I always do...lol

    take care,
    Tommy

Living in Alabama can really suck lol. I speak from experience as well. Tornadoes, hurricanes, and some of the nastiest severe thunderstorms imaginable - we tend to get it all around here. I think mother nature doesn\'t like us very much.

I hope you pull through it ok Tommy. I have an old high-school buddy who lives down in Foley, so I\'m worried about him too.

With the eastern side of the storm projected to hit like you say, I\'m sure it\'s gonna fire up all kinds of nasty crap in west/central AL as it moves in - which is where I\'m at (just 20 minutes outside of B\'ham). Having barely survived the April 27th tornado outbreak last year, I\'m thankful we made it through with very little damage (essentially 45% of my town was leveled that day - wife and I got REAL lucky based on where we are). I just hope it simmers down and all we really get is lots of rain. Like we need that either though - El Niño has been pretty generous to us this year already. I worry about flooding for sure. It\'s already been an issue this summer in some areas near here.

    Stay safe man!

Keep you head down brother, I hope that you and yours come out the otherside of this storm ok and still in one piece. Weather is a MONSTER sometimes. Maybe you should have posted this in the monsters section. LOL. Just my attempt at levity. Hang in there my friend.

Hopefully they prove wrong again and its not as severe, loses a lot of power out at sea. Stay safe buddy, bunker down. I\'ll be thinking of ya and hoping for the best possible scenario.

Well, the system has moved just a bit more to the West. All the school systems in our area, including mine, have shut down at least through Wednesday to be on the safe side. The parents are not too happy about that...LOL....

    take care,
    Tommy
