i just saw it too, and i liked it.....but does it have that special feeling tcm 74 gives ya? HELL NO....lol.....the remake was good, but thats as far as it goes for me.

Accually, you guys are right. I think it\'s scarier when there isn\'t as much music, when someone is getting chainsawed/sledged/hooked/other... :lol:

Jeeze, these damn kids! :angry: Listen, the original TCM is the movie that it is because it was incredably ground breaking and original when it came out in 1974, it pretty much revolutionized the entire horror/slasher genera as you know it today. No TCM, and there probably wouldn\'t be the rich tapestry of characters there are now. There is also no possible way to compair the new version to it realistically, they were made 30 years apart for christs sakes, of course the special effects elements are going to be much nicer, and the movie will be cleaner on the whole, but that does not mean it\'s better. The story and plot were lacking quite a bit I thought, and bubba just wasn\'t the same character, more of a run of the mill psycho. The fact that he was mentally handicapped in the first was such an ingenious rout to go, you can\'t reason with him, try to explain it\'s wrong to kill people, it was just a big game to him, you are his food, and he is going to hunt you down period. Which brings up another point I missed about the new one, where did the canabalistic aspect go?!?!? That added a ton to the creepieness of the original, just knowing you are being hunted down for meat makes it all that much more terrifying.

I liked the new version, it\'s not a remake in the truest sense, more of a damn good sequal, but it still can\'t hold a candle to the original, nothing can! When you watch the original, I mean really watch it, you get a chill to your bones, it leaves you with an almost hollow feeling. The new one didn\'t do that at all for me, which was a HUGE part of why the original is my favorite movie of all time. So to say the new version was 100% better is just ignorant and foolish.

I have read no posts but the first one because I am tired but the remake had nothing on the original. Wasn\'t anything ORIGINAL, simply make you jump horror when something moves in the shadows. In no way were you scared the next day after watching the remake, because it was not believeable. The remake was shot like any other horror film, dark and dropy with dirt to make it look old. The family, oh how the family sucked. bubba was smart in this one too, which sucked, made the character who was suppose to be slow and sheltered almost like any other murderer. If you thought the remake was better then the origial in any way your a dumbass. It was a good movie I give it that, but in NO way the classic that was made by in 1974. Another reason why the remake killed it for me, in the 1974 original the horror led up, and built in your mind. In this one its just flat out shoved at you to try to scare you, with the hitchhiker blowing her brains out and then from then on its pretty much the same.

well said trav..A great sequel, the fact of bubba being teased was gay everyone is teased then they kill same same ...The originalk was jsut a tardy whos fam was crazed and he didnt know right or wrong and then he wasnt a visciuos killer he was jsut doing as he is told cause he sees nothing wrong with it complety original.. i didnt liek 2 that much adn 4 suked dong but the 1st then part 3 adn the remake are the best even thou the fam in part 3 was differetn it showed how bubbad grew up adn was teen minded i liked that aspect of part 3..But TCM 03 did kick ass but nutin will compare to the first, unless another remake is made wit hthe exact script adn follow scene by scene then they might get it

I love the new Chainsaw but the orignal is still superior. There were a lot of things in the new one that just dont seem real, like when LF gets Andy, he would have bled to death within 15 seconds after he had his leg cut off or at least gone into shock. Also when he\'s stuck on the hook it would have peralized him cause the hook would have cut through his spine and come on, stabbig the poor bastard in the stomach, it would taken a while for him to die. I also didn\'t like the fact that it rains at the end of the movie, lets be real I dout it rains in the middle of Augest in Texas. There are a few other things but other than that the new Chainsaw is really cool. I\'ve seen it 11 times already.

Also the locker and the meat scene. The original bubba would have just chainsawed every piece of meat and every locker in the row until he hit his target, because bubba was simply stupid and careless like that. All he cared was if he got um\'.
