uhm,..no? Wouldn\'t be long before the maker was broke and sitting on a bunch of unbought masks or whatever. For every 10 people that write you going, "Oh I will DEFINETELY buy that -insert glove, mask, whatever-" You will get maybe 2-3 people that actually DO buy it.

Alot of people talk alot of shit, but when it comes time to parting with the money then it\'s, \'family problems\', \'business problems\', \'My relative is sick\', \'My boss didn\'t give me that raise\', \'I didn\'t get enough birthday money\', etc, etc,.

Replica makers pretty much as a rule only make stuff for people who already paid. It\'s like a circle, you use the money from todays order to buy supplies for tomorrows projects so you can take new orders and get new money to make new projects, ad infinum.

Well, worked for me in the past

and I never said that the mask maker should do it for everyone, but alot of the people i\'ve dealt with has done so atleast once or twice with no problems

You know when your door bell rings and there is a package at the door and it has your name on it! You think I finally got it, and then when you open the box you are just amazed at what you are seeing. You say holy crap it is awesome and you cant believe you got it. To me that is the best moment of all. That is why I wait, because for those couple of seconds you are amazed.

Thanks for those that allowed me to vent. I have no problem paying ahead of time. I have no problem dealing with professionals like Justin and Terry. They always answer emails and provide updates on their sites. But I do think it\'s excessive to make someone wait more than a year, stop responding to emails and basically cut off contact until they FEEL like they want to say something to you. That is not acceptable. I understand that some of you feel that\'s fine. But accept the fact that some of us don\'t think it\'s fine. I have heard so many horror stories right here on these message boards about GOOD PEOPLE, who pay GOOD MONEY with GOOD INTENTIONS that still haven\'t received a single thing. That is unacceptable! End of story!!!

The wait is not fun. Receiving is fun. The longer the wait, the more fun in receiving? That may be true...but only up to a point.

I will continue to wait because I hope, just like you, that it will be worth it. I think some mask makers should be sent a wake-up call. I\'m not talking about MIKE, MARK, JUSTIN or TERRY, I\'m talking about the flat out A*SHOLES that get your money and dismiss you. That\'s B*LLSH*T and you guys know it!

So stop side stepping the issue and proclaiming I love the wait! The wait is great! The wait is what this hobby is all about! If that\'s the case send me a check for a thousand dollars and you can wait for the rest of your life for me to give it back. Oh won\'t that be fun!

    Sorry I was venting again!
    LOL

I understand what you are saying. I guess you just have to be very careful about who you buy from. Make sure they are reputable and ask around to get other people\'s experiences. I hope you get your stuff. Good luck. Smile

What would you rather have? A mask that you purchased for 120 dollars and then got it in the next three days and when you look at it, your like what the hell is this or a mask that you purchased for the same price waited a month or three even and when you looked at it you were just utterly shocked at it? It is very simple factor if you really, really want it you will wait. If you know it\'s gonna be that great of a mask you will wait. You don\'t want a mask to be rushed out. I get your point and what some mask makers do, give you a time frame and then just totally blow it, all I have to say about that is don\'t give us a time frame. Plain and simple, because when you give a person a time frame they expect it to be right on schedule and it tends to make the person even want the mask even more. Just keep the person updated on the mask and tell them when you are ready to ship it out. It almost like going on a trip and there is someone in the back yelling Are we there yet and you probably get the reply We will get there when we get there.

P.S. I am not trying to turn this into an argument. I understand where you are coming from and I hope you will get your mask soon.

IMO, if the wait is going to be over 6 months, then the maker should not take more orders and more of people\'s money until they fulfill their outstanding orders. If you have been waiting for a year or more, that is just complete BS. People shouldn\'t get in over their heads. That\'s why makers like Justin do \'sets\' of 10. That way they can keep up and have a decent turn around time. This is all just my opinion. Tongue Big Grin

Alright, I\'ll chime in here since I\'ve been on the end of a few VERY long waits, and still am on a few. Do I mind? Sure to some extent, no one likes to wait, idealy when you send someone your hard earned money, you want something to show for it right? Does it bother me? No, not really. I can order a piece, and kind of put it out of mind, till I get that email saying it\'s ready to ship, then that wait kills me LOL! It really is an extension of this hobby though, when you\'re dealing with such highly hand made pieces, and the artists are dealing with a high volume of orders, it\'s gonna take some time to get you that amazing piece you decided to spend $100, $200, $500 or whatever it cost. Simply put by many people, if you can\'t wait 6 months plus, you are in the wrong hobby, and you\'re just gonna end up pissed off, and pissing off the mask makers with email after email, sorry.
Right now, I\'m in well over a year wait with a couple guys, and closely aproaching a year with a couple others, I\'m not going to mention names, that\'s childish. But I can say I am 100% fine with those waits. I have the utmost confedence in those makers, and their ability to deliver absolutly incredable pieces that once I have will completely nulify any wait time I had! I\'ve actually told many guys over the years my stuff wasn\'t a huge priority, it could be pushed back if they needed to get something else done.
What does really bug me though, is when guys aren\'t upfront about the wait time, if you tell me it\'ll be a year that\'s fine, no sweat! But if you tell me it\'ll be 2 months, then it drags into a year, that\'s what gets me. Yes there are extenuating circumstances, everything can take 10 times more time then it should, and it does happen. If I get an explaination why, that\'s alright then, yes agrivating, but I can see it from the makers viewpoint, and accept it easily. However, if I keep getting told \'oh it\'ll just be another week\' or another month, or it\'s shipping soon, or any of the other countless excuses, that\'s when I get annoyed. I would MUCH rather hear \'I have no real idea when I can get it sent out to you\' then be given a date, only to see it go by, again and again.
thus ends my rant o\' the day.
