From the digitalbits.com"Lionsgate has just announced the DVD and Blu-ray Disc release of My Bloody Valentine 3-D on 5/19. The film will be available in single-disc DVD, 2-disc DVD special edition and Blu-ray versions (SRP $29.95, $34.98 and $39.99 respectively). Here's the kicker - each will offer the film in both 2-D and 3-D (a la Warner's Polar Express) and will include 4 pairs of 3-D glasses.

Can they not release this DVD in the REAL-D format? I refuse to buy it if it's coming w/ red/cyan glasses.... what a waste.

Cool can't wait to watch this film again... and as for the 3D glasses... I think this will be the red and blue one, but your can buy some real 3D glasses on eBay for about 8$ I think...http://cgi.ebay.ca/REAL-D-3-D-Polarized-3D...%3A1|240%3A1308

They're based on different technologies from what I've read. I don't think the Real-D glasses will work the same on the DVD format. Sucks!

Great............ <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/confused.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"confused.gif\" /> I dont understand why they wont release it with the proper 3-D, it ticks me off.

I agree, I'm bummed that these great 3d movies are getting second best treatment when it comes to the 3d. It sounds like the recent F13 part 3 and other 3d dvds, in other words it's Anaglyph 3d, which is crap. You get 3d effects at the expense of picture quality, which becomes blurry and discolored. There's been work going on for years to bring out a consumer 3d tv. Let's hope it gets here soon, or at least translates into better 3d dvd.

You can get a field sequential 3D player (wireless shutter glasses). The only problem is they only work on CRT TVs (tube TVs, can't use HD) and there's not many "official" field sequential dvd releases, and there can be some "flicker". The good news is there are people out there that buy the red and blue versions and then somehow convert them to full color field sequential 3D. I picked up a converted version of the new F13th 3 3D dvd and it's great. Here's some screen grabs of the left and right eye views (I did not capture these). Bring them up full size and cross your eyes.
