i just wanted to let my bud's on NIGHTOWL know about my buddy randy that had a horrible motorcycle accident last night. he lost his spleen damaged his liver and lost his left leg. just wanted you guys to keep him in your thoughts and hope for the best. he is one of the good people in this world, and we in the fire sevice and axemen motorcycle club are all pulling for him. thank you in advance for any positive thoughts or comments that you guys have for him and his family.mikehere is the email i received this morning if any wants to read itBig Grinear Axemen Brothers, It is with great sadness in my heart that I have to write this email. Randy Hall, road captain for Michigan Axemen Chapter One, was involved in a motorcycle accident last night @ 10:30 pm. I'm on duty this evening and at 22:30 hrs., we toned out for a motorcycle accident on West Maple Road, just west of Benstein Road, in Commerce Township (about 1/4 mile east of Beck Road on West Maple Road). The incident location is located in station # 4's district, the station that Randy works out of, and they handled the call. I work on the north end of the township at station # 2, so I wasn't on the scene (I was listening to all radio traffic while sitting in quarters and spoke to the guys who were on scene as soon as they got back from the call). Anyway, since I wasn't on scene and didn't see anything with my own eyes, I am only reporting what I have been told. Randy, was alone on his Harley when he "side-swiped" a Dodge Durango that was traveling in the opposite direction. It is unclear at this time who crossed over the double yellow into on-coming traffic, but the impact was so great that Randy's bike went under the Dodge Durango and took the rear axle clean off. Reports from the guys who were on scene stated that Randy had a compound left femur fracture, compound left tib/fib fracture and heavy trauma to his left leg. Apparently, he was conscious but paramedics on scene were unable to establish an IV. Randy was then transported to William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan (that would be the nearest level one trauma facility) for further treatment. Upon arrival at the hospital, the trauma unit wasted no time checking for further injuries and he was in surgery within minutes of his arrival at the hospital. I was just informed by phone about 3am this morning that Randy is finished with surgery, but had more internal injuries than first responders found on scene. Doctors reported that they were able to repair the damage to his liver, but had to remove his spleen. He also had a fractured pelvis that needed to be stabilized and due to the heavy trauma to his left leg, I am sad to report that doctors had to amputate it mid-thigh (half way between his knee and hip). Please keep Randy in your prayers!! It is currently 5am and since I haven't been able to sleep from the shock of this incident, I felt the need to inform everyone so we can all support Randy and his family during this difficult time. Shift change is at 7am and after I run home to take care of a few things, I plan on driving out to Beaumont Hospital to offer any kind of support. I will email more updates when possible. If anyone else would like to stop by the hospital, I'm sure Randy as well as his family would love the support.Respectfully,"Hollywood"<img src=\"http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h124/msharrow1414/IMG_0066.jpg\" border=\"0\" class=\"linked-image\" />
