<a href=\"http://www.superherohype.com/news/spider-mannews.php?id=8976\" target=\"_blank\">http://www.superherohype.com/news/spider-mannews.php?id=8976</a>"Peter Parker is going back to high school when the next Spider-Man hits theaters in the summer of 2012.Columbia Pictures and Marvel Studios announced today they are moving forward with a film based on a script by James Vanderbilt that focuses on a teenager grappling with both contemporary human problems and amazing super-human crises. The new chapter in the "Spider-Man" franchise produced by Columbia, Marvel Studios and Avi Arad and Laura Ziskin, will have a new cast and filmmaking team. Spider-Man 4 was to have been released in 2011, but had not yet gone into production."After part 3 this sounds like a really good idea.

<b>everythings a remake or reboot now. spider-man has been the best comic book movie franchise ever, now it's trashed. expect to see Iron Man rebooted in 2 years too :|the only positive I can make out of this is no more Kirsten "Dunce" as MJ.</b>

this is disappointing and exciting at the same time. while I'm not usually a big fan of remakes, I'd rather see a better start than a horrible finish. the series went to hell after 2, and I could not have seen 4 going much better unless they stuck to the comics a bit more accurately. (which they obviously werent fans of)hopefully this new series will be a bit more true to the comics and feature the character as they were suppose to be. while mcguire did a great job acting wise, he was just never peter parker to me. to be honest, the most accurate character they had was jk simmon's jonah jameson. everything else just seemed more, "hey, you're a big star right? we can try fitting you in somewhere..."

It's billed as a prequel. A prequel to what exactly? He was nothing before he got bit, which happened in the first movie. So technically this movie should just be called 'Man'???

well in the marvel comicbook universe there are numerous incarnations of the peter parker origins of becoming spidey...so a "what if?" story would be interesting....i have nothing against the first spider man film but expected more of a origin story with human psychology and the consequences of "with great power comes great responsibility"

I love Spidey & I am very happy to see Kirstin & Tobey go.They actually think that they are the main reason that the Spiderman franchise was a big success in the first place. <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"Rolleyes\" border=\"0\" alt=\"rolleyes.gif\" /> <!--quoteo(post=345877:date=Jan 11 2010, 10:23 PM:name=Threat)<div class=\'quotetop\'>QUOTE (Threat @ Jan 11 2010, 10:23 PM) <a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=345877\"><{POST_SNAPBACK}></a></div><div class=\'quotemain\'><!--quotec<b>everythings a remake or reboot now. spider-man has been the best comic book movie franchise ever, now it's trashed. expect to see Iron Man rebooted in 2 years too :|the only positive I can make out of this is no more Kirsten "Dunce" as MJ.</b><!--QuoteEnd</div><!--QuoteEEnd
