I do gotta say I sorta agree with chad and the others here....the black album is where they grew all of their fan base. I mean...hell, they didn't even make videos to their songs up until master of puppets if memory serves me correctly? it's all about what you're used to....if you grew up listening to "Master of Puppets" then you'll like that best and if you grew up listening to "Black" then you'll most likely like that best. I am personally BURNT OUT on the black album....they drove it into the ground back in the early 90's and even today you'll hear it on the radio quite frequently....but regardless the black album is a classic.Derrick

I have to admit that the black album and St. Anger are my favs, i just did'nt dig the old stuff as much as the new, i first heard the black album in 91 and worked my way back, no denying there's some classic tracks on the older albums but i still have to jump around instantly when i hear 'Sad but true'!!I was lucky enough to see metallica when they played a suprise gig at 'download' the donington rock festival a few years back in a huge balck tent!

Metallica is definately one of my favorite bands, one of the reasons I first picked up a guitar. My favorite albums are a tie between Puppets and Justice. But, I like their entire catalog, even Load and Reload, and even St. Anger. They all have their own moods and it's really hard for me to exclusively be all about pre-'91 Metallica, even though the music was a lot different then. But for a band to stick around 20+ years, change has to happen, and I like the change, and I can still love the older stuff just as much.

The Black album, enter sandman is one of the best metal songs ever written.Master of puppets and Justice for all are great also.After black, everything else sucks. Lars is a d-bag, and now there just a bunch of sellouts.Jeff-

Change is good sometimes. Me and him grew up togather and grew up on Metallica. It was always fun going over there or him comming over my house and talking about what they were doing next or craking up our favorite song. They have always been one of my favorite bands and always will be. There the reason why I like the music that i do and i'm so into my musi. It's cool some of you guys like them just as much as I do.

that was the point.I think some of the posts were unneeded and shouldn't of been said.if you don't like Metallica then please don't post.It's ok you don't like the 90s stuff that's fine. if your not a fan then don't post. I can see why you guys don't like it. Saying Tool is great and you hate Metallica is just being immature.
