When I hear this I get the impression the entire bust is filled completely with foam and not just a 1/4" wall of it? Am I correct?

Every time i have ever bought a foam filled bust, it was completely foam filled. I have bought only one foam lined bust...and i was specifically told it was foam lined.take care,Tommy

Thanks, yeah I was told "foam filled" and to top that off I opened the box and my bust was broken into 2 pieces. The box was padded with shopping bags and newspaper. A) if it was foam FILLED it would have not broken <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cool.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"B)\" border=\"0\" alt=\"cool.gif\" /> if it was padded it would not have either.I'm a bit ticked off that I spent over 400 on this and it was basically just thrown into a box with newspaper and unfortunately broken in transit. The person who sold me this said " <i>it will be resin & filled with rigid polyfoam</i>" just making sure it was supposed to be actually FILLED before I bitch the seller out.<img src=\"http://img27.imageshack.us/img27/8979/img14650211426.jpg\" border=\"0\" class=\"linked-image\" /><img src=\"http://img9.imageshack.us/img9/5372/img14640204335.jpg\" border=\"0\" class=\"linked-image\" />

Damn, that must have taken one hell of a jolt. Is it common practice to foam fill a resin piece?

In the one foam lined bust i do have...the foam is around 3 inches or thicker all throughout the inside of the piece. I really do not know what to call that....foam trimmed perhaps? In respect to gummi's question of foaming resin pieces, i think it depends upon the maker. I have seen alot of resin stuff that was cast thick enough to where it didn't need foaming and then i have seen some so thin, if someone thumped it, it would shatter. In respect to how hard of a hit it took.......Scabboy...were there alot of small fragments? It honestly looks like a clean break from the pictures. This could mean it was already possibly hair lined cracked to begin with and the shipping just made it completely split apart. Please tell me you got insurance on this package......take care,Tommy

No chips, clean break, just one crack all around. The box was also in good condition, no bent corners or anything.Yeah, some of the bust wasn't even covered with foam either. As for insurance, it came from another country and I thought there would be insurance although on the declaration slip I see no indication of it, or I may not be reading it correctly.<img src=\"http://img23.imageshack.us/img23/9475/img14674712887.jpg\" border=\"0\" class=\"linked-image\" />

thats a shame man. It seems that there is no uniformity in the thickness of the resin either. To me...it honestly looks like a situation where the maker did not put as much effort into it as they should have....but that is just my opinion of course.take care,Tommy

Well, I am not going to cast blame. I will see what the seller says and how he takes care of it. It could have been an easy mistake where he started and stopped for a reason and did not finish. I'd think you would be able to tell with the weight, but I don't know.
