Hockey Mask Basecoat Help

Hey guys. I have been using the same almond Krylon as a basecoat on all hockey masks since I started. the problem is, a few months ago Krylon changed the look of all of thier paint and from what it seems to me they have changed thier formulas as well ????? its weird because now when I use the exact same paint as a basecoat, none of the washes I do with acrylic dollar store paints stick to the basecoat ?? all of the paint comes off? are any of you guys having this problem ? and also can anyone recommend a better paint for basecoating ? thanks for reading. I been using it for my hockey masks and its been doing ok but just some paint came off like you said not alot tho, check the date on your can

jamie, I had this problem, I have started doing a light coat or two of krylon satin clear after my base coat, lightly sanding with fine sandpaper, and hen starting with my acrylics and it has been working for menot sure of another basecoat, am open to suggestions tho

i know a few proffessional Hockey Mask makers and they use car paint.you can mix it the color you want and it will not come off..tommy

I use ivory for some, almond for others. I don't like the dover white personally.
